About the Facility -

Mountain Home Air Force BaseMountain Home Air Force Base is a United States Air Force Installation in the western United States. Located in southwestern Idaho in Elmore County, the base is twelve miles southwest of Mountain Home, which is forty miles southeast of Boise via Interstate 84. The base is also used by the Republic of Singapore Air Force which has a detachment of F-15SG fighters for long term assignment to the base and a squadron composing of RSAF and USAF personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.Perform deployment related health assessment, preventive health assessment and annual mental health assessment services that comply with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force policy and guidance, to include required standards of care and clinical practice guidelines.Provider will care the load of patients per Defense Health Agency guideline for Patient-Centered Medical Home of greater than or equal to 100 patients per week.Provider will perform Airmen Medical Readiness Optimization requirements for Primary Care Manager team for Flight and Operational Medicine Clinic.Provider will assist and support in Warrior Operational Medical Clinic as deemed necessary by leadership.Provider will assist Base Operational Medical Cell by completing deployment Health Assessments and Mental Health Assessments, Preventive Health Assessment and other medical clearances required.REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in NursingGraduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Certified in the specialty required as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate.Shall maintain current certification in one of the following: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner in family practice, primary care or orthopedic care. Flight Medicine is highly desirable but not required.Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.

TERMS:

Full time position, 07-1700, Monday through Friday 40 hours per week.
