Overview:

POSITION SUMMARYThe System Administrator will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and support for Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC) enterprise systems. This individual will serve as the technical expert in system administration for server operating systems and will provide the highest level of server performance tuning and recovery procedures. Responsibilities include management of physical and virtual servers including building and specifying new servers as well as installing operating systems and applying patches and upgrades regularly. Daily tasks include monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of hardware, systems, processes, logs, backups and more. This individual should maintain current knowledge of technological developments in systems administration technology. As part of IT support, the system administrator will be responsible for the configuration management and auditing of end-user devices while also providing helpdesk support when needed. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, motivation to find solutions, and quality end-user experiences is essential. The System Administrator position is a hybrid position, with significant in-person work at TCRHCC. While not on site you will be responsible for working from your home office. As a remote worker, you will need to be independent and self-motivated, holding yourself accountable for tasks and ongoing responsibilities with little supervision. Must frequently accept a flexible schedule to meet unit needs.Environmental:May frequently be exposed to loud noises with occasional exposure to infectious diseases, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, extremes in temperature or humidity, hazardous or moving equipment, and unprotected heights.Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManages physical servers, including building and specifying new servers and installing operating systems. Apply operating system patches, internal system audits and upgrades regularly.Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, databases, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups including developing and recommends server and database disaster recovery plans.Manages physical and virtual environment within TCRHCC data center. This includes provisioning new servers, installing operating systems, setting up snapshots, setting up storage resources, VM templates, and VM pool migration.Develops procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of TCRHCC server operating systems, databases and host-based applications.Develops and maintains test infrastructure to ensure system modifications do not affect the reliability of core enterprise applications.Develops server and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Utilizes tools such as Microsoft System Center (SCCM) or Microsoft Intune to perform monitoring, patching, and deployment.Manages corporate backups and schedules, including performing tasks such as adding clients, restoring data, configuring backups and storage policies, and replication.Maintains and manages Storage Area Network (SAN), including performing tasks such as attaching servers, creating LUNs, modifying partitions, and monitoring capacity alerts.Establishes, maintains, and manages user accounts. Assigns configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.Maintains current knowledge of technological developments in systems administration, database technology and recommends ways to take advantage of innovative technology.Performs administration and implementation of Microsoft Office 365 platform and technologies.Performs regular security monitoring and guidelines to identify any possible intrusions.Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your electronic health record system.Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issuesManaging the logins for different types of access, including login behavior, and working environment configuration including regular security monitoring and guidelines to identify any possible intrusions.Applying patch releases, updates, version upgrades to production and non-production environments. Configuring and maintaining environment copies according to the environment strategyWork with various project teams and stakeholders both internal and external in the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of 3rd party software products that require database support, and in the design, implementation, and maintenance of internally developed database, data warehouse, data mart, and reporting solutions.Maintains a thorough understanding of the basics behind server administration and its workings (DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, Domain Controller, Backup/Restore, Permission/Right, Project Management, Security, Email Routing, etc.) Maintains, operates, and monitors system/server hardware and software. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolves server issues and security appliances.Must have thorough knowledge of latest Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL, VMware View (VDI) and VMware software product versions, and information storage management and other related software.Manages assigned projects and install server components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives; evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.Consults with vendors and other sources on industry and product direction, functionality, and capabilities. Consults with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and systems requirements. Contact vendors, engineers, computer hardware specialists, and systems software specialists to determine the cause of problems resistant to available problem-solving techniques. Informs supervisor of action taken.Reviews and approves all systems changes/charts and programs prior to implementation. Ensure proper change control methodology is used.Assists in development of IS policies and procedures in conjunction with TCRHCC requirements. Analyzes IS requirements, assisting users, including those of top management, in the development of locally prepared programs, acquisition of software, or procurement of software from outside sources at the most reasonable cost to the organization.Represents the IS Department in meetings and on committees directly involved in the integration of new or existing systems.Responsible for Yearly server hardware audits and inventory maintenanceComplete understanding of Microsoft Active Directory design, implementation and management and troubleshooting, Including PowerShell, Group Policy Management, and basic scripting of bulk tasks.Complete understanding of Microsoft RDS and RDS gateway secure services design, deployment, and maintenance.Advanced understanding of VMWare vSphere environment its design, deployment and maintenance including vCenter, ESXi, NSX and vSANAdvanced knowledge Microsoft web and certificate management and understanding of end point security such as Antivirus, Encryption, Deployment of software packages.Experience with Single Sign On (SSO) applications, Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), Mobile Device Management (MDM). Identity Access Management (IAM).Liaison between users and Service Desk on system changes, as well as provided helpdesk support.Manage Data Warehouse data feeds and other integrations.General data governance and data management; data deduplication, scrubbing, access controls, data loads, migration/mapping activities, etc.Work with our executive management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities.Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (See CDC website for most current updates)Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a Communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee and external customer satisfaction.Other duties as assigned.
