at our
Jeanerette Rural Health Clinic (JRHC) . The Nurse Practitionerapplies the nursing process, effectively interacting with patients and otherhealth team members, while maintaining standards of Advanced NursePractice. As Manager, the Nurse Practitionerdirects the personnel, budgetary and general operational activities of theclinic. Under indirect supervision,provides independent primary care in a variety of clinical settings to aspecific population of non-emergency patients. Provides consultation and advice to others as a family nursepractitioner.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Master'slevel preparation from an accredited School of NursingCurrent license to practice as an APRN in theState of Louisiana is required.Current national certification by a national organization recognized by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required.CPR Certification must be up to date prior to completion or orientation and assuming the position
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in an outpatient, primary care setting is desired but not required.Experience in nursing management is also desired but not required
PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs medical examinations andevaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and healtheducationObtains patient histories and developspatient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Provides health education to students,families, and/or community health practitioners and groups, within area ofspecialtySupervises and/or coordinates theactivities of patient care and/or support staffMay participate in planning programs andin developing specific health policies and proceduresPractices safety, environmental, and/orinfection control methodsPerforms miscellaneous job duties asassignedMakes decisions continually on a varietyof complex problems while rendering patient care and managing clinic business.Maintains legible, accurate,and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses,procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultationsconsistent with NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance), JCAHO (JointCommission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and state regulatorystandards.Analyzes new knowledgegained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or "hands-ontraining" and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.Works in an independent andinterdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows forconsultation, collaboration, or referral.
