We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to help grow our thriving practice! All levels of experience will be considered, but the ideal candidate will be friendly, personable and a team player. This is a great opportunity for a new grad looking for mentorship!

Meisels Animal Hospital, a long-standing pillar of the Elmwood Park community, is a fully renovated, 4,000 square foot facility located a short drive from NYC! The veterinarians and staff at Meisels Animal Hospital have provided the best quality care to patients in the Elmwood Park area since its founding in 1946.

Currently a two-veterinarian practice with a highly skilled and stable staff, Meisels has an immediate need for an additional veterinarian, due to the planned retirement of our current Medical Director in late 2022. At Meisels Animal Hospital, it's not just about providing excellent veterinary care; it's about giving back to the community that has given so much to us! Meisels Animal Hospital offers a unique blend of state-of-the-art equipment and services, but with a "home-like" feel that is appreciated by clients and staff alike. Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problemsTreat and dress woundsPerform surgery on animalsTest for and vaccinate against diseasesOperate medical equipment, such as x-ray machinesAdvise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatmentsPrescribe medicationWork closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality careQualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree requiredLicensure in the state/s candidate will be workingAbility to show compassion to both pets and their ownersOutstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasksAbility to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animalStrong fondness and understanding of animalsGood communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of animal behaviorAbility to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
