The Senior Oracle DBA – Monitoring Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Key Skills:

Must have experience working with Oracle 12c Multi-tenant RAC and Exadata; experience migrating from 12c to 19c a bonus

Must have hands on experience with SolarWinds and putting together monitoring plans

Other Monitoring and Performance Tools, such as Splunk, AppDynamics a bonus

Experience with AWS Cloudwatch a bonus

Understands the logical monitoring approach across the platforms: Oracle on-prem, SQL Server on-prem, AWS RDS (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server etc.) and MS Azure.

Must have at least one Oracle related certification

Responsibilities:

Perform monitoring duties on the environment and databases, and resolve issues as they arise

Make recommendations to improve system availability and performance using existing toolsets and make recommendations for additional tools.

Operations & Support of database environments deployed in a 12c Multitenant Architecture

Implement Upgrades of databases from 11g to 12c Multitenant and 12c to 19c Multitenant

Implement Upgrades of Multi-tenant databases from 12c (12.1.0.2) to 12.2.0.2

Deploy, upgrade, operate, and managing databases in 12c Multi-tenant deployed on Exadata Engineered Systems

Tuning, optimization and troubleshooting multiple environments (20+), stand-alone and pluggable databases, SQL and PL/SQL routines.

Operational responsibilities will include supervising performance of database installations, configurations, and migrations as required

Designs, builds, and maintains structure (e.g. relational) and unstructured databases within a multiple tier environment

Analyzing performance issues, diagnosing/resolving affecting database systems

Performs data access analysis design, and archive/recovery design and implementation.

Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database

Maintaining database configurations in compliance with release management, change management, and office of information security requirements

Troubleshoot issues related to Oracle RAC (Node Evictions, Node Reboots)

Deploy Oracle ASM and troubleshooting ASM related issues

Perform daily activities like production support and continuous database monitoring.

Leverage tools like OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM Expdp/Impdp, SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Plan Baselines.

Apply patches like Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Patch Set Updates (PSU), and One-Off Patches, Interim patches, DST, and Patch sets.

Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front‐end (e.g. COGNOS) and back‐end programming languages (e.g. SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design.

Deploy Oracle Wallet configurations and Implement TDE security configurations

Deploy Hot/Cold Backup and Recovery of databases using RMAN

Implement database environments refresh using data pump

Implement Oracle Transportable Tablespace (TTS), Oracle database provisioning and cloning techniques and Oracle standby database server deployments, architecture, configuration, implementation, operations, and management

Translates business requirements and database administration operational requirements into long-term architecture solutions.

Reviews and develops object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better data management and performance.

Performs all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.

Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a multiple tier environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.

Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.

Qualifications :

Hands on experience with system monitoring and performance tools in a multi-tired environment.

Experience putting together monitoring plans.

Hands on experience configuring SolarWinds to monitor a variety of platforms

Has hands on experience configuring Splunk and AWS Cloudwatch

Hands on experience as an Oracle DBA supporting large production databases in a multi-tiered environment

Experience as an Oracle DBA working with Oracle 11g/12c Multi-tenant RAC and Exadata running on a variety of operating systems (Linux (RHEL), Solaris 11).

Experience with migration from Oracle 12c to 19c.

Understands the logical monitoring approach across the platforms: Oracle on-prem, SQL Server on-prem, AWS RDS (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server etc.) and MS Azure.

Database Administration Experience with Oracle PLSQL, Oracle Database on 11.x and 12.x.(19.x a bonus) or higher & providing day to day support and maintenance.

Experience configuring 12c or higher databases in Linux

Must have excellent understanding of Oracle SQL / PL/SQL skills and Performance tuning Deep knowledge of Oracle partitioning, Indexing and Compression Experience developing complex business logic in the Oracle database using PL/SQL.

Strong hands-on experience with the Oracle RMAN Backup and Restore, Export and Import Data Pump utilities and partitioning Oracle databases

Experience with Oracle database provisioning and cloning techniques, Oracle Standby Database Server deployments and Oracle Backup Design Planning.

Experience with Oracle Database Security - Wallet Configuration & TDE Deployments for 12c Multi-Tenant and Oracle Database Upgrade mechanisms of different versions and on various platforms

Hands-on experience with Oracle ASM configuration, deployments, and troubleshooting.

Monitoring and troubleshooting SQL*Loader/PL/SQL Data Loads for Performance, Coding and Infrastructure issues.

Experience with operating system: Sun Solaris 10.0 and later; Red Hat Linux 6.x and later

Experience writing complex queries and working with database objects like tables, views etc.

Proven ability to resolve architectural issues in the environment and database infrastructure, as well as develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the database architecture and the application functionality.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex issues involving data movement and data replication. Be able to work independently and have good oral and written communication skills.
