Practice DetailsSanford Health has an opening for an Inpatient Pediatric Psychologist to join our growing team. Psychologists at Sanford Health are a valued part of our care team and integral in our comprehensive care model. We are looking for candidates who want to be a part of a team that isgrowing our efforts to develop specialty care programming for the patients and families we serve. This is a great practice opportunity for a self-driven psychologist withleadership goals wanting to make their mark in developing and enhancing programs with support from a collegial interdisciplinary team.•Team includes one experienced inpatient pediatric psychologist and a robust outpatientteam of 6 Psychologists, 5 Psychiatrists, Masters Level Therapists, and Integrated Health therapists.•Sanford Children's Hospital is a 72-bed Children's Hospital housed within Sanford's general hospital.•This position will support General Pediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU•Support the Level II Pediatric Trauma Center•Support the Pediatric Palliative Care Program•Patients and families with history of chronic disease•Universal Screening Program•Member of the Multidisciplinary Team rounding of all patients•Address Life Altering Diagnoses early•Meet the needs of Adolescent Suicide•Address needs of Autism/Spectrum Disorders while inpatient•Therapy Groups for patients and families•Partner and collaborate with the Children's Advocacy Center

Job DescriptionChild Psychology core privileges include the ability to diagnose, provide treatment, and consultation to children and adolescent patients who suffer from mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders.

QualificationsPh.D. degree.

Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested:An applicant who has just completed a residency provides his/her resident log.ORAn applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient, outpatient or consultative services in child or adolescent psychiatry to at least 30 patients in the last 12 months.ORIf a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's clinic activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 30 child or adolescent patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.

More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychology residency program with two additional years of residency training in child and adolescent pychology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency and programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.

Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity's policy for grandfather exceptions)
