Overview
Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.
Salary: $77,001.60 - 92,401.92 yearResponsibilitiesEvaluate, assess, and screen clients using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observational skillsProvide speech/language therapy according to OPWDD guidelinesProvide required documentation for services that the program and/or supervisor have outlinedMaintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner.Attend all meetings as scheduled and collaborate with other professionals, staff, and families.Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills, and abilities through appropriate continuing education, in-service training or higher education.In-service staff on communication programs.Oversee implementation of communication programs in both day and residential settings.Other duties, as assigned.QualificationsMasters Degree in Speech/Language PathologyNYSED licensure in Speech/Language PathologyASHA certified preferredTSHH certification preferredExperience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferredExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
