Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our Nutrition and Diabetes Department in the role of Registered Dietitian. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is primary responsibilities include inpatient clinical nutrition and long term care. The RD is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) using the Nutrition Care Process, including nutritional screening and assessments of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, pregnant/lactating, and geriatric patients with a variety of medical conditions as a member of the interdisciplinary care team. Provides MNT for patients receiving enteral tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. Implements nutrition care plans to meet patient's nutritional needs. Counsels and educates patients, family members, employees, medical staff and community members on nutrition and wellness topics. Develops, conducts and evaluates educational classes and materials. Participates in developing and updating procedures, protocols and departmental policies. Facilitates compliance with The Joint Commission, state and other regulatory agencies related to nutrition care. Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of quality initiatives. Provides consultative services to long-term care facility.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics or related fieldCompleted an accredited intern programValid certification in the State of Wisconsin as a Dietitian (CD) or temporary certification if RD eligible for the first 90 days of employment.
If the candidate is a Registered Dietitian but does not hold a valid certification in the state of Wisconsin, they must have a pending application for certification with the state of Wisconsin at their employment start date.
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD), or RD Eligible with earned RD credential within 90 days of employment. Temporarily certified, certification pending and/or RD eligible staff will have all work supervised and/or co-signed by a RD-CD.The RD is responsible for completing, documenting and submitting all required continuing education credits for maintenance of credentialing.
