Shaw University is looking for a Full Time Human Resources Representative. Reporting to HR Director, the Human Resources Representative handles the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Representative is directly involved in the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs
Essential Job Functions:
Processes benefits and leaves of absences, to include; Participates in benefits administration, including claims resolution, worker’s compensation, FMLA, and short-term/long-term disability, distribution of annual employee notices as required and assisting with benefits reporting requirements;Assisting with performance management and improvement systems;Assisting in resolving employee relations issues;Ensuring employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;Assisting with employee onboarding, development, and training processes;Facilitates New Employee Orientation;Documenting HR processes;File documentation and maintenance;Handling company employee communications related to HR concernsHandling paperwork and questions related to compensation and benefits administration;Assisting with employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; andMaintaining HRIS systemOther duties as assigned by the HR DirectorEducation and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferredA minimum of three to five years of recent and related experience OR combination of education and relevant experienceKnowledge of human resources laws and regulationsKnowledge and experience with digital technology, social media, HRIS softwareDetail oriented with strong written, verbal communication, and public speaking skillsProficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web searchesAbility to work independently and collaboratively balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record as defined by Shaw; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
