Job Summary

Water Conditioning Customer Service Representatives (CSR) at Martin Water are experts in sales, customer service and product knowledge. A Water Conditioning CSR serves customers by determining requirements; answering inquiries; resolving problems; fulfilling requests; maintaining database and scheduling appointments. They provide information on product features, explain how those benefits impact the customer's life, and they may recommend related options to complete an entire project to the customer's standards.

Water Conditioning CSRs are responsible for building relationships with customers, co-workers and manufacturers. They are the face of Martin Water and are expected to conduct business in a professional way that honors our legacy and mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Are you the type of person that ignores a piece of trash on the floor...or would you pick it up?

The successful Water Conditioning CSR Team Member will possess a great attitude and a servant's heart. You will be customer-focused and a crucial interface between the customer and your fellow team members. You will address customer concerns and questions while watching the schedule for a Water Conditioning Technician to make the home visit, all while clarifying, researching and connecting with the customer.

Each time you answer the phone, you see an opportunity to serve and possess a desire to solve the problem. Attention to detail is critical; you will maintain your own database of routine service customers to be sure they are served.

Your professional demeanor and attitude also play a tremendous part in the fit that you will be on the team. We are looking for a Team Member who can work within the team but also take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Our goal for you is to be considered a Trusted Advisor to our customers rather than a call taker or a dispatcher. Cross selling of related products that fit with the customer's vision is a part of your day along with explaining new or unused features of the existing product.

Being a Trusted Advisor also requires empathy and tact, especially when faced with a challenging situation. Good communication skills are essential when dealing with customers as well as other Team Members who might be in different locations.

This position will require working a variety of hours that may include early mornings, weeknights, Saturdays and at certain times extra hours beyond the normal schedule. We will not require you to work any overnight or Sunday shifts.

Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Competencies

You can read and write English and perform basic math functions that would commonly be found in an office environment. Your spelling and grammar skills are good. Your interpersonal skills are great; you can read, write and otherwise communicate effectively with managers, Team Members and customers.

The successful candidate can use a computer, tablet or smartphone to send emails, order online products and are comfortable using these pieces of technology. You can also operate copiers, scanners and other forms of technology commonly found in an office.

You will have some basic knowledge of water and plumbing and possess a natural curiosity about the job. You are mechanically inclined, and you might even work on your own car or fix the broken toaster rather than buy a new one. You can read a map.

You are enthusiastic, friendly and energetic and possess a genuine desire to provide outstanding service. You are slow to anger and can remain calm in most situations. People would describe you as creative, patient and a good listener, both with friends and people that you just met.

You are comfortable in a professional environment and you are concerned with your own neatness and cleanliness. You can multi-task, handling the needs of customers as well as being flexible to the needs of the company.

Education and/or Experience

We value both formal and non-traditional education and believe that learning is a lifelong journey not bound to a specific time or place. Our ideal candidate is a continuous learner who wants to grow to become a better person and Team Member.

Other Attributes

You are described as dependable and have a high attention to detail. You demonstrate ethics and integrity in your work. You enjoy working with others as a part of a team and demonstrate self-control. You are cooperative and helpful to customers, and show concern and empathy for others. You courageously take on challenges and can adapt quickly to changes in the workplace. You like to talk and you smile easily!

Physical Demands

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. You may occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, travel up and down stairs and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. You will sit at a desk with a computer and telephone interface for most of your day.

Work Environment

We strive to provide a positive work environment in which all team members feel they can grow personally and professionally. Reasonable accommodations are made to enable persons with disabilities to perform the described essential functions. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. All employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit and business need.
