----Job Details:General NotesThis position is eligible for some onsite offsite flexibility as determined by supervisor. Candidates invited for interviews may be asked to complete several Excel exercises as part of the interview process.PurposeThe Finance team for the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery is seeking a business analyst to join its central administrative team.

ResponsibilitiesMonitors account activity and reconcile accounts to assure that all account activity is related to the project and is charged appropriately. Reference agency guidelines to make sure that budget changes are in compliance with the specied requirements from individual agencies.

Analyzes and coordinates monthly account statements and provides research faculty with account summaries reports on a monthly basis, and projections on a quarterly basis on all of their lab funding sources: start-up, grants and gift funds, etc.

Conducts forecasts/projections for awards received to assure that original scope of work will be satised. Communicate with faculty, review original proposal submission, and verify applicable fringe and F&A rates to prepare forecasts, annual, and nal agency reports.

Advises faculty of remaining time of project periods and account balances in advance to assure that extensions on research projects are requested in a timely manner if research has to be extended beyond current project periods. Consult agency guidelines to provide faculty with options regarding extensions on re-search periods.

Assists faculty and post-docs with the preparations of budget proposals to assure all necessary university and agency requirements are met. Act as a liaison between Neurosciences and Dell Med Central offices such as Finance and Research.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years of related work in business administration or research administration systems demonstrating increasing responsibility.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Proven experience with accounts and reconciliation. Strong listening skills and a focus on customer advocacy.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred QualificationsFour years of account and budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting. Intermediate to advance level in Excel. Knowledge of university nancial systems. Expert knowledge of governmental regulations. Expert in project management. Research oversight expertise. Experience with UT systems such as DEFINE, FRMS and the Request System. Experience with federal grants pre-award and post award.

Salary Range$55,000 + depending on qualifications
