About the Position

The Programmer Sr (Data Governance) will provide expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of Collibra data governance solutions to support data management and governance initiatives. The incumbent will implement software applications and perform complex and analytical assignments. The incumbent will oversee multi-tasking projects and create, modify and maintain business applications. The incumbent will analyze and design existing systems and programs, develop or recommend new systems or modifications and manage the development and implementation of reporting infrastructure. The incumbent will gather and document requirements and design and build solutions for internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will participate in the design and development of solutions using Structured Query Language (SQL) Server technologies as well as other processes that utilize Extensible Markup Language (XML), Visual Basic (VB) scripting, C# scripting and Python.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Participates in a mission driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short and long-term goals/priorities for the department.Configures Collibra's data governance platform to meet the organization's data management and governance needs and develop custom scripts and extensions within Collibra to enhance functionality and integration with other systems such as Extract, Transform and Load (ETL), Business Intelligence (BI) and data cataloging tools.Creates and maintains workflows to support data stewardship, data quality and data classification processes, as well as collaborates with data stewards, business analysts and other stakeholders to define and implement data governance processes.Collaborates with developers, stakeholders and subject-matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.Serves as a subject matter expert across the organization and assists users with reporting and analysis activities and tools.Provides support and innovative solutions related to modules, researches software and matches with user requirements and advises users on limitations and alternative approaches.Conducts unit tests of new or modified processes ensuring data quality standards are adhered to.Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.Plans, develops and supports ETL processes to populate the operational data stores, data warehouse and data marts as needed.Participates in the development of business and functional requirements for DW related projects.Develops and maintains code using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), Azure SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Tableau, XML, Python, VB scripting or C# scripting.Expands and maintains designs of complex information systems through formal design techniques.Takes part in BI working sessions, data normalization and governance exercises.Partners with leadership to ensure project activity is customer focused, results oriented, performance driven and in compliance with all applicable internal and external requirements and policies.Researches, evaluates and documents current and future business processes.Trains end-users and administrators in Collibra usage and best practices.Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field required.5 years of experience in general relational database and reporting development required.5 years of experience with data warehousing analysis and development including database design, ETL and reporting required.5 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server, Transact-SQL, Azure SQL, Integration Services and using reporting tools such as SSRS required.Experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (DIC) or Data Quality (DQ) required.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of experience in the health care industry.2 years of experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.Experience using modeling techniques as a tool for application design and development.

Employee is required to communicate, particularly for phone use and in meetings.Work Environment: Cubicle type office environment with minimal to moderate noise levels and controlled office temperatures.
