Job Description:As a Senior Support Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the assembly, setup, and deployment of systems under test for the Post-Silicon Validation team, following and adapting established procedures in a dynamic lab environment. Performs set-up, maintenance, and/or repairs of systems under test, and collaborates with engineers on equipment issues, selection, and setup. Debugs and troubleshoots issues or failures, reports results, and recommends root causes and solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities• Works independently with little to no supervision in a lab environment.• Coordinate lab activities among other support engineers or technicians in the validation lab• Works with Validation engineers across a wide range of areas and understands how to execute tests and collect data efficiently.• Requires hands on experience with setup and running equipment to include scopes, BERTs, Source meters/DMM.• Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assignments are semi routine in nature.• Work performed within generally defined parameters. High degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems.• Normally receives general instructions on most work.• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to audiences.• Most tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; Strong planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; attention to detail is a must.• Regularly determines what needs to be done and is involved with sharing innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications• Contributes to and implements test procedures in collaboration with engineers, based on high level requirements. Participates and provides feedback in test reviews.• Execute test plans and collect data efficiently based on Silicon Validation engineer's instructions and requirements, guides junior technicians in execution of test plans.• Experience with reading schematics and Allegro board files.• Experienced working with specialized test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JBERTs, multimeters and other standard lab equipment, as well as loading and running complex programs or builds.• Experienced with assembly, setup, and deployment of complex server systems in a bench or server room environment.• Ability to Identify issues with test equipment and assist in coordination of repairs while documenting steps to prevent future issues.• Experienced maintaining and organizing lab equipment and accessories.• Advanced SMT and PCB rework skills.• Hands on experience with wide range of PCIe/NVME/SSD/NIC cards and DIMMs.• Identifies, debugs, and troubleshoots advanced system issues or failures.• Ability to setup and power up a system with required BIOS/FW images and parts socketed.• Communicates across teams to provide status and information regarding obstacles and implements remediation to prevent future issues.• Manages and understands teams project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimum guidance.• Windows and Linux experience are.• Experience with Issue and Project Tracking Software such as Bugzilla, Jira.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotelyMinimum QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience:6+ year experience as semiconductor lab technician, testing, measurement, or related experience in semiconductor industry.

Preferred QualificationsEducation:Associates - Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering
