Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse - Days with Call

Job Description:
Monitors and assesses patient needs, provides a safe surgical environment during catheterization procedures, promotes good patient care, and performs other related Cath Lab duties. Circulate all cath lab, pacemaker and structural procedures. Administer moderate sedation under the orders of the Cardiologist, monitors patient consciousness and vital signs during the procedure and sedation time. Assist First Assist Scrub with sterile field set up. Transport patient to cath lab and appropriate care units post procedure. Provide hemodynamic monitoring and procedure recording as assigned. Scrub procedure if experienced as Scrub First Assist. Ensure rooms are stocked to PAR levels. Attend in-service and continual education offerings.Receives direction from: Cardiologists, Cath Lab Director/Manager and Anesthesia. Flexible hours to cover add-on and emergent procedures including call.Graduate of nursing program.2 years critical care experience.MT RN licensure. Current BLS and ACLS Certification required.Demonstrates effective communication skills. Possess knowledge of the theories, techniques and practices of professional nursing and coronary care nursing. Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's. Know how to open, read, and respond to email. Know how to manage electronic files. Know how to print electronic documents and reports. Work in a temperature-controlled environment. Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease. Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
