The System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software, build and configure IAAS resources, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with cloud, computer, server, and network systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
Responsibilities Include
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualizationInstall and upgrade cloud components, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processesTroubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issuesProvide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructurePerform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresResponsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performanceWork with the development team to ensure company applications are deployed using best practicesRequirements Include 4+ years experience and
Highly proficient at administering, deploying, and troubleshooting IAAS systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Scale Sets, Azure Private End Points, Azure Web Applications, Azure Application InsightsProficient with Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL database configuration, maintenance, deploying, and replicationStrong knowledge of administering, deploying, and troubleshooting traditional and IAAS network systems including Azure v-nets, Azure VNG, IPsec tunnels, routing and subnetting, vLAN's, DNS, application and stateful firewalls, Azure Load Balancers, and WiFiExperience using Terraform or another infrastructure as codeExperience with scripting and automation toolsA proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plansExpertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systemsStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, disaster recovery protocols, and business continuity planningPluses
