GENERAL SUMMARY
The Assistive Technology Specialist handles new client assessments and training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*Provide itinerant evaluation, training, and technical support services related to the use of assistive technology in the communityPerform clinical evaluation of client's needs for assistive technologyProvide training related to assistive technology to individual clients and/or caregiversCoordinate equipment requisitions with clients, funding agencies and other interested parties, and provide installation of equipment as neededProvide consultation services to clients and contracting agencies regarding assistive technology both by phone and in personMaintain appropriate documentation based on professional practice, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, contracting agency requirements and third-party payor guidelinesAchieve established productivity standards based on job assignmentSubmit paperwork and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards and with strict adherence to deadlinesQualifications
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Licensed SLP, OT, COTA, PT, and/or ATPExperience working with assistive technologyMaintain a valid professional licensureFollow ethical guidelines as required by each licensing agencyCPR/BLS preferredValid driver's licenseStrong organizational skillsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
