Essential Functions
Lead skilled team of Configuration Management Specialists directly contributing to ISS, Exploration, and External Commercial Spaceflight Partners.Maintain the HH&P CM Receipt Desk. The CM Receipt Desk shall be the conduit for all CM related data entering and exiting the HH&P Directorate.Define and implement Configuration Management (CM) and Document Management (DM) processes and ensure the established processes and procedures are consistently followed.Ensure all documents are current, distribution is timely, changes to a configuration baseline are properly identified, recorded, evaluated, approved/disapproved, incorporated, and released.Lead teams, special projects, and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders in planning and executing CM processes, process improvements, procedures, and requirements across organizations.Establish and implement CM process controls for generation, transmittal, receipt, distribution, and storage of documentation.Coordinate Changes (Change Requests (CR), Deviations and Waivers, etc.) across contracts, teams, and organizations to facilitate the movement of baseline through applicable boards and panels.Ensure accurate and reliable data is captured from change initiation through implementation and closure.Maintain, track, validate, control, and release configuration managed products while ensuring established data quality and standards are met prior to release.Perform Board Secretariat functions and provide CM guidance including but not limited to development of the board agenda including verification of agenda items, developing minutes, and documenting and tracking action items (AIs).Generate configuration status reports to provide visibility into the project's current state.Monitor and report on the implementation of approved changes.Provide training to project team members and other relevant personnel on configuration and document management processes and best practices.Ensure that team members understand their responsibilities in relation to configuration and document management.Implement quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with configuration and document management standards and best practices.Periodically review and update processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Ensure compliance with NASA and industry standards and guidelines related to configuration and document management.Maintain contingency plans in case of data loss or document-related emergencies.
Required Experience• High School Diploma Required• Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation• Strong skills in Microsoft Office products.• Skilled in the use of Adobe Pro and SharePoint.• Must demonstrate knowledge and ability of configuration management tools through experience in the field.• Must be able to accurately communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing.
Preferred Experienced• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.• 5+ years of Professional work experience.• 2+ years managing a document/configuration control team.• Experience working in configuration and document control.• Prior experience with NASA documentation processes and procedures preferred, but not required.
