The Verily Precision Health Platform is a comprehensive and patient-centered engine that accelerates the evidence generation needed for safer, more effective treatments and care decisions, helping people live longer, healthier lives. Our cloud-first approach, advanced analytics and AI expertise enable us to collect, organize, enrich and activate petabytes of data aligned with our customers' unique needs and delivered at just the right time.
The Software & ML Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and motivating a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of software and ML applications (including data science, computer vision and LLMs) for our Precision Health Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in managing software development and ML engineering teams and projects.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, mentor and motivate a team of software and ML engineers and foster their career development.Oversee the development and maintenance of software applications while also managing the software development process: work with stakeholders to gather requirements and define specifications, strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs.Manage deployment, monitoring, and management of machine learning models and data pipelines in a production environment.Advocate on behalf of team members, secure the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.Stay up-to-date on the latest software and ML development trends.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.5+ years experience in SW, cloud engineering, ML engineering, or a related role.3+ years experience in leading and managing software development teams.Strong technical skills in programming, software design, and testing.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.8+ years of experience as a software and/or ML engineer.Experience in managing large-scale software development projects and working with distributed teams.Experience in Agile development methodologies.Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $276,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
