How Does This Position Help VTS Succeed?

As a Business Insights (BI) Lead / Lead BI Analyst you will work within the Data Solutions team and alongside stakeholders across the organization as a technical lead on BI work streams and initiatives. You will use your solution-oriented mindset and advanced analytics skill set to deliver complex reporting and custom dashboards for clients. You will also work on high priority product development initiatives to standardize insights across the VTS platform.

What you can expect from this role:

• Join a tight-knit, diverse and values-driven team of data professionals based in Toronto, Chicago, and NYC
• Partner closely with Data Solutions Team manager to scope, plan, guide, and implement development of BI products and solutions
• Support business stakeholders and partner with technology experts to support the development and deployment of business intelligence solutions and products
• Develop or oversee development of processes/tools used by the team to improve analysis quality and shorten delivery cycle times/promote automation 
• Provide subject manager expertise on technical approach, risks, and progress of strategic initiatives with Data Solutions team
• Coach and train Analyst team on BI best practices and skills
• Have the opportunity to progress with a clear and well-defined career growth plan
• Partner with client-facing stakeholders (Sales, Implementation, Client Advisory)  to produce dashboards that address client reporting requirements and data visualization insights
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineers on initiatives on the VTS insights product roadmap
• Exposure to domains of commercial real estate and business insights/data analytics/data visualization

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Possess extensive experience in an analytics/business insights role working deeply with data visualization & reporting tools such as Looker (preferred), Tableau, etc.
• Highly proficient in SQL and interpreting complex data models
• Exposure to a modern data stack (Snowflake, Bigquery, dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, etc)
• The ability to understand customer challenges and translate them across domains to produce data-driven solutions
• Have a data-driven mindset, exceptional attention to detail and organization
• Capable of explaining concepts and scenarios in a succinct and digestible manner
• Expertise troubleshooting and reconciling BI issues, query performance, and optimization
• Experience working in a SaaS environment (preferred)
