Senior Tax Accountant, International

In this role, the International Tax Senior will advise clients on complex US international tax issues, including managing global effective tax rates and global tax structures and assisting with complex business transactions.THE SKILL SET3+ years of full-time public accounting experience with exposure to international tax concepts, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, foreign tax credit calculations, and international reporting and compliance.Experience with Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8938, 8621, 1116, 1118, and FINCEN114.Knowledge of Sec 962 election and High Tax Exception.Great tax research experience and skills.Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, to represent the Firm well to client’s management.Ability to manage multiple engagements and complete projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills and strong attention to detail.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.A PLUS IF YOU HAVE4+ years of experience in international tax, with experience leading multiple engagements.Proficient with CCH ProSystems FX tax, QuickBooks, and/or RIA Checkpoint.Master's in Tax.CPA license.WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LLComplete new hire orientation and onboarding.Complete introductory training.Begin learning our tax software, as well as undergo a Quickbooks refresher.Begin growing your internal network by meeting with Supervisors, Managers, and Partners.WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LLPrepare and/or assist with complex, international tax returns for clients in diverse industries.Make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities.Engage clients in tax planning and calculation of estimated tax payments.Researching and preparing materials for consulting projects related to tax planning considerations.Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LLManaging international tax engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects, managing the budget, and meeting deadlines and client expectations.Assist in training and mentoring associates on client engagements.Review work of less experienced staff and share knowledge to develop staff technical skills.Anticipate and address client concerns and escalating problems as they arise.AT GEMRT YOU WILL ENJOYOur annual firm cruise!Competitive salary + bonus program.New business commission.Generous referral bonus.15 days PTO plus 10 additional firm holidays (including the last week of the year).Health insurance covered by GEMRT.Dental and Vision insurance are available.Short and Long Term Disability.Gap insurance and Aflac.401(k) with matching contributions from GEMRT.Life insurance covered by GEMRT.CPE covered by GEMRT.Is this role not an exact fit?Sign up to stay in touch, we'll let you know when we have new positions on the team.THE GEMRT WAYWe abide by a set of 23 values, our GEMRT DNA.
