Summary:
A Host is the first impression the guest receives when entering the restaurant. Friendliness, excellent service, and high standards are a must for this position. The Host also greet Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, take to go orders, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's nameProviding guests with menus and answering any initial questions.Seating guests at a tables or in waiting areas.Assigning guests to tables while keeping table rotation in mind.Answering phone calls, taking reservations, answer questions, and taking to go orders.A knowledge of the menu and beers.Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.Help stocking retail area and beers.Providing great customer service.Light brewery adminDistributing mail and communication with other departments.Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.Able to handle money accurately and operate point of sales system.Able to articulate clear greetings and farewells to Guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistanceMust be upbeat, outgoing and positiveAbility to work positively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively within a teamAbility to effectively communicate on the telephone.Physical Demands:Must be able to walk and stand during entire shiftMust be able to reach, bend, stoop and wipeMust be able to walk and stand during entire shiftMust be able to reach, bend, stoop and wipeExperience:
Restaurant experience a plus.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
