JOB SUMMARY

:

The truck driver is responsible for safely and efficiently driving, loading, transporting and unloading raw materials from vendor locations to production plants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

:

Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work locationPerforms daily vehicle pre-trip safety inspection according to company guidelines.Ability to use water hoses to clean mixer between loadsMaintains truck maintenance, fluid and fuel levels as needed and assist maintenance with repairs as neededReports any vehicle mechanical problems on a timely basis to fleet maintenance.Visually inspect the consistency of concrete in mixerFollows written and oral instruction from production manager to determine the quantity and location of raw materials to be loaded, transported and unloaded each day.Ability to exercise good judgment regarding work site access, unloading / operation to and from work siteEnsures materials loaded into tanker are the correct quantity and within acceptable specifications.Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional, courteous mannerContinuously follow all safety rules and work in safe, efficient mannerCompletes required paperwork timely and accuratelyMaintains communication with the production and plant managers using two-way radio and mobile telephone to advise of questions, problems or issues on a timely basis.Maintains a neat and professional personal appearance.Keeps the interior and exterior of the truck clean and free of clutter to include regularly removing road film and excess raw material from exterior surfaces.Follows established company policies and guidelines for safety, quality and service.Ability to operate light and heavy plant equipment (loader, mixer truck, etc...) as needed.Wears personal protective equipment as needed or required.Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as neededREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a two years' verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience.Class A CDL licenseExperience in rock and sand and/or bulk cement hauling.Must have a clean and safe driving record.Maintain an active DOT qualificationAbility to perform well in a "TEAM" environmentSelf-motivated, organized and can work without direct supervision.Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationshipsAbility to perform sustained overhead reachingAbility to work in areas with the potential for high noise levelsAbility to tolerate working at heights up to 12 feetAbility to work near, around or on light or heavy equipmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to work up to 16 hours, with a maximum driving time per day of 11 hours and able to work according to DOT Hours of Service Regulations.Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100lbs. of weight frequentlyAbility to repeatedly climb stairs and climb laddersAbility to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objectsAbility to use vibration tools frequentlyAbility to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sittingAbility to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
