Come join us!About the role:The Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for all quality and regulatory compliance matters for Liquid I.V. The role is part of the Leadership Team and reports directly into the Chief Executive Officer.As the essential voice for quality and regulatory compliance, the VP, QA/RA will set the strategy for the function, support internal and external-facing connections and industry organizations, and ensure LIV’s ongoing position as the industry leader.In addition, the VP, QA/RA will help create and execute key policies that ensure LIV’s leadership in a complex and dynamic landscape. The leader must be highly collaborative, consistently proactive, strive to persistently find solutions and new ideas to achieve business and compliance objectives.A deep understanding and proactive involvement in the development and implementation of food and/or dietary supplement safety is required, and familiarity with compliance systems for global operations would be helpful.The successful candidate will be a proven compliance Vice President who is a strategic and agile thinker and is growth and operationally oriented.The QA/RA leader will report to our CEO and, at the moment, will have two direct reports and nine indirect reports.Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:Provide strong credibility to the voice and opinions of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, using deep GMP/regulatory insight to solve problems, identifying win-win solutions as a proactive business partner.Creating/managing the department budget, ensuring organizational structure, people development, develop and ensure compliant QA/RA strategies, processes, and procedures while partnering and aligning with Unilever H&W and H&W standards.Lead FDA and other third-party inspections, participate in trade associations.Provide strategic direction and coordinate the implementation and adherence of all necessary QA/RA programs, including management of GMP third party manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and raw material suppliers.Partner with key stakeholders to ensure that the QA/RA strategy is aligned with the business strategy to achieve company objectives.Monitor performance against LIV’s procedures, product specifications, and report using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Work closely with the Operations, R&D, and Marketing teams to ensure safety requirements and product labels/claims are substantiated across advertising platforms and that QA/RA standards are incorporated into the product development process and manufacturing quality systems.Serve as a key contributor during all innovation stage gates providing regulatory and quality expertise.Assure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and food and dietary supplement safety, recall, and crisis procedures are understood, instilled at all levels of the organization.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in QA/RA, Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or other science related field. Master’s degree highly preferred.15 years of experience as a Quality and Regulatory in Food or Dietary Supplements with a track record of success in roles of increasing complexity.Experience with high growth with rapidly evolving or disruptive business models.Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations in an FDA regulated environment pertaining to the manufacture and marketing of foods and dietary supplements; global experience a plus.A track record of building strong teams, processes and systems.Prior experience of ‘seeing around corners’ and anticipating changes needed to reflect growing complexity in strategy and business operations.Ability to manage and lead through a dynamic and changing business landscape, supporting teams with change management.Be able to make rapid, accurate decisions on compliance issues.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.What We Give:100% company-paid medical, dental and vision insurance for employees (PPO, HMO and Kaiser options).A 401k plan with company match, short and long-term disability coverage.A generous PTO and sick policy that includes 13+ paid annual holidays.Wellness classes (fitness, mental health, nutrition, finance, etc.).An Employee Assistance Program, including membership for guided meditation for all employees.Monthly phone and gym reimbursement.Opportunities to participate in our Giveback Mission to help Change The World.Copious amount of Liquid I.V. product to keep you Fueled for Life’s Adventures!Work Environment:Hybrid / Office environment with flexibility for industry events.The expected base salary range for this position is $225,000 to $260,000.
