Job Summary

The Product Manager, Product Development is responsible for the oversight and management of assigned products and benefits. The position leads the development of product strategy and makes recommendations to leadership for change. In addition, this position performs portfolio assessments on a regular basis in order to provide leadership with key information about the overall business performance of the portfolio and to subsequently initiate any changes necessary in order to improve performance. This position is the primary subject matter expert to the organization for the assigned products or benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.Strong oral and written communication skills.Intermediate working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Duties And Responsibilities

Manage assigned products and benefits:Establish short- and long-term product strategy by working with leadership to develop product goals and objectives.Conduct strategic portfolio assessments, including HMSA's position in the marketMonitor and communicate product performance; draft performance reports, industry trends, and make recommendations for change based on goals, operational constraints and limitations. Work with internal business partners and vendors to make improvements to the portfolio.Serve as subject matter expert to the organization for the assigned products or benefits.Manage ad hoc or custom benefit requests. Requests may come from Account Management Services (AMS) or executive leadership and will require analysis and recommendations.Provide subject matter expertise during the filing and implementation of all new products, benefits and language changes. Assist in assuring that documentation, communications as well as Guide to Benefits, certificates, and other product materials correctly reflect necessary changes.Keep abreast of all regulatory requirements and mandated changes affecting the product portfolio and perform analysis of the impact of mandated change. Coordinate reviews with other internal subject matter experts and provide the necessary information needed by others for decision-making and implementation. Provide implementation support for mandated changes.Mentor and train analysts to perform product research, analysis, and portfolio assessments.Lead or work with other departments on miscellaneous projects related to products, benefits, and programs.Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
