About the Position:

As Senior Internal Auditor you will be responsible for performing internal audit work under the supervision of the Vice President, Internal Audit. Work will involve leading or conducting performance, operational, financial, and compliance audit projects; performing testing of internal controls; providing consulting services to the organization's management and staff; and providing key input to development of the risk-based annual internal audit plan. This includes assisting in planning, preparing workpapers to support conclusions, discussing findings and observations with management during exit meetings, and preparing written audit reports. You may be asked to provide routine assistance such as advice on internal controls approaches, best practices, and helping management deal with routine issues. You will maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards and ensures all internal audit activities carried out or supervised are in compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditing (IIA) International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards).

What You Will Do:Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and proceduresConduct interviews, review documents, compose summary memos, and prepare and review working papers to ensure adherence to the re-performance standardDevelop recommendations for improving internal controls, operating efficiency, automation of controls, and the adequacy of records and recordkeepingEvaluate and report deficiencies (as evaluated under the internal control framework) to appropriate management based on the results work performedIdentify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations for improvement using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewedCommunicate or assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to managementDevelop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contacts and group meetingsPursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workersRepresent internal auditing on organizational project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizationsIdentify and evaluate the organization's audit risk areas and provide key input to the development of the annual internal audit planSupervise the work of staff and interns on a project basis.Perform other duties as assignedEncourage and motivate team members, fostering a positive and uplifting environment that promotes individual and collective growthRepresent First Internet Bank and the Internal Audit Department in a professional and respectful manner by building effective relationships with key stakeholders and positively contributing to the Internal Audit mission of being a strategic partner to the businessWhat We're Looking For:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting or Finance related concentrationA minimum of three years of financial services experience in the areas of internal audit, internal control assessment, and/or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 evaluation and testing.Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or demonstrated progress toward attaining such certification(s) is a plusExperience with Sarbanes-Oxley testing of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting is a plusPrevious supervisory or project management experience is a plusWorking knowledge of and skill in applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practicesKnowledge of the Standards and Code of EthicsKnowledge of contemporary risk management and control techniques and control frameworksKnowledge of or ability to gain through experience financial services industry program policies, procedures, regulations, and lawsFamiliarity with the common indicators of fraudSkill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusionsConsiderable skill in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlinesSkill in negotiating issues and resolving problemsProficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, systems documentation, audit packages, and other business software to prepare workpapers, reports, memos, summaries, and analysesStrong speaking and listening skillsAbility to interact with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondenceAbility to perform focused work with close attention to detailEmployees are expected to carry out all reasonable requests by managers/supervisors, which the employee is capable of performingMaintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidentsMaintain confidentiality of employee and company informationWorking Conditions/Demands:
