Job Summary:

The Sales Director Food Service is accountable for the development and growth of Blue Diamond Growers Food Service business in the U.S. and Canada. The primary focus of this role is to develop and implement strategies while creating direct relationships with customers and partners to maximize sales and distribution opportunities across all segments of food service.

Additional accountabilities will include representing Blue Diamond’s Food Service operations in Global strategic planning/reporting, annual operating planning/reporting, trade fund investment/reporting, demand planning & collaboration with cross functional teams on all matters relating to the Food Service.

To be successful in this role one will need to have a history of successfully expanding national CPG presence into the food service channel. Candidates must demonstrate strong business acumen, negotiation and communication skills, customer savvy, organizational and analytical agility, and collaboration with cross-functional partners and alignment with Blue Diamond’s values to maximize success across this business segment.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Development of an annual customer sales plan for a robust product line-up that fits goals and objectives for the Food Service strategy.Identify, pursue and successfully capture new business with key end users & distributors across multiple channels in food service.Develop short and long-term strategic plans for sales that align with, and support, established organizational objectives targeted at a variety of sales channels including QSR, FSR, Institutional, Distributors and Industrial accounts.Build and maintain effective long-term partnering relationships with customer leadership that provides the organization with a stable customer base and insight into future needs.Develop and direct the implementation of effective and coordinated Food Service marketing budgets and strategies that support sales plan objectives.Ensure progress is on track to performance metrics for customers and understand impact to overall food service performance.Accountable for detailed and accurate monthly forecasting to planning team to ensure peak reliability.Understanding of the fundamentals of industry supply and demand drivers, market dynamics, and competitive set, to position pricing/value with customers.Develop relationships with key decision makers at the customer, identify the needs and tailor specific solutions that create value to the customer and growth for Blue Diamond.Develop and present business cases as required to advance ideas forward.Provide specialist support and expertise to work with manufacturing plants in cross-functional teams on an as-needed basis, to assist with troubleshooting, process optimization etc. for customers.Communicate customer’s insights - organization structure, business strategies, culture, relations - with Blue Diamond colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer to continually increase our customer intimacy.Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree10 years Food Service industry sales experience or related roles.Experience in a team selling environmentEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop emerging programsSelf-starter with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsHighly motivated, strategic thinking with the ability to interact at all levels of an organizationRequired to travel for extended periods up to 50%.NOTE: Position can be remote.Preferred Skills And Experiences:

MBA or Graduate DegreeGlobal Sales and Business Development ExperienceSales experience in the Food Service segment at leadership levelsProven leadership skills with the ability to manage complex situations to a positive resolution.Exceptional business acumen, including an understanding of global markets, financial and commercial models.Analytically minded with an eye for process improvement.Clear written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively articulate complex issues across all levels of an organization.Ability to engage stakeholders, build trust and collaborate cross-functionally.Supervisory Responsibilities:
