JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting for an academic GI surgical pathologist. Candidate must be board certified in anatomic pathology or AP/CP, and be qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin. Our surgical pathology division operates under a subspecialty model with shared call and therefore general surgical pathology knowledge as well as specialty training/expertise in GI pathology will be required. The successful candidate will be appointed as a member of the department at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level (non-tenure track) and will have responsibilities in surgical pathology. In addition to routine Surgical Pathology work, the appointee will be given the opportunity to work closely with multi-specialty UW Comprehensive Cancer Center groups on collaborative clinical and translational research projects. The laboratory processes approximately 60,000 surgical specimens per year. Responsibilities: The academic GI pathologist will sign out surgical pathology cases, contribute to our teaching mission and collaborate on translational research projects. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
