We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall wellbeing of our community.ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at the University of South Alabama is seeking a BC/BE non-invasive cardiologist to join a collaborative group of academic cardiologists. The division includes an established cardiovascular disease fellowship training program, an ICAEL accredited Echo lab and an ICANL accredited Nuclear Lab, and the regions only Level I Trauma Center. Cardiac invasive and interventional services and a comprehensive cardiac surgery program are available. Commitment to clinical service and teaching duties are the highlights of this position. Research opportunities and faculty mentoring are also available.Faculty expectations include:Staffing the non-invasive laboratory overseeing the performance of stress testing with or without imaging, electrocardiograms, ambulatory ECGs, echocardiograms, transthoracic and transesophageal, and elective cardioversionsProviding outpatient cardiology clinic coverage, with a wide patient referral base. Supervise cardiology fellows' outpatient clinicsInstructing medical students and trainees in ACGME-approved internal medicine and family practice residencies, and cardiovascular diseases fellowship on inpatient services and in the Heart CenterWorking collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams of other faculty physicians, trainees, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other staff membersCollaborative on quality initiatives, including the cardiothoracic surgery Heart team quality improvement project and the Heart Failure Team projectRequired Skills:Board Certified/Board Eligible in CardiologyBoard Certified/Eligible, Level II or Ill training in Echocardiography and transesophageal EchocardiographyBoard Certified/Board Eligible, Level II training in Nuclear CardiologyExperience in peripheral vascular imaging and cardiac CT imagingThe University of South Alabama Health System helps people lead longer, better lives through its excellence in education, research and medical care.
