We are proud that our independent agents and customers have recognized our dedication by making UAIC the market leader in every state where we conduct business.SCOPE:As a Personal Injury Protection Attorney for UAIC, you will play a crucial role in representing individuals covered/ insured by UAIC, named as defendants in civil litigation for property damage and/or personal injury. You will be responsible for providing legal expertise and guidance to clients as well as supporting the claims department, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings. This role is responsible for managing a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and representing United Auto in court. Additionally, you will collaborate with our claims and support teams to ensure United Auto receives the best possible outcome. This position offers a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.DUTIES :Review and evaluate personal injury protection claims to determine liability and assess potential exposure.Collaborate with claims adjusters to provide legal guidance and ensure claims are handled efficiently and in compliance with company policies.Conduct thorough legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents related to personal injury protection claims.Analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical advice to the claims team.Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other parties involved in personal injury protection claims.Assess the value of claims and make recommendations for settlement or further legal action.Handling all facets of discovery, which includes interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production, and conducting witness depositions, including expert testimonies.Manage and oversee lawsuits related to personal injury protection claims.Collaborate with external counsel, attend court hearings, and represent the company's interests in legal proceedings.Analyzing cases as they advance, addressing liability and damages concerns, and reviewing medical reports from inception until completion, ensuring all necessary legal actions are taken.Utilize case management software to maintain comprehensive and organized records of each matter.Draft all pleadings needed for the file, including complaints, motions, and other legal documents.Provide comprehensive advice and updates to clients regarding the status and progress of their personal injury protection claims.Address any client inquiries or concerns in a professional and timely manner.Attend, take, and represent the company in all depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary to represent the company's interests and advocate for favorable outcomes.Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations pertaining to personal injury protection.Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of all personal injury protection claims and related legal activities.EDUCATION:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.Admission and in good standing with the Florida barSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Minimum5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on PIP litigation.Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and laws.Excellent research, writing, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.BENEFITS:401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer match.Comprehensive Medical, Prescription Drug, Vision, and Dental InsurancePaid Time Off, Holidays, and Leave programs.Flexible spending accountsBasic Life Insurance and Voluntary Life/ADDShort Term and Long-Term DisabilityUAIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees.
