Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Cultivates a patient centric environment which focuses on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care in patient care within scope of practice standards, as well as specialty specific standards to address and resolve problems that may arise.

EEO/AA/Disability/VeteranResponsibilities:1. Clinical Care1.1 The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) implements accurate, safe, patient centric anesthetic care.2. Professional Skill2.1 Completes a thorough anesthesia apparatus safety test, including the anesthesia machine and all monitoring equipment which will be used during the delivery of a given anesthetic. Documents the anesthesia record accordingly.3. Information Management3.1 The CRNA ensures appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms, whether computer-based, paper, film, voice, or other media from unauthorized access modification, destruction, or intentional or accidental disclosure.4. Quality Management4.1 The CRNA is expected to demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.5. Professional Development5.1 The CRNA continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.

Qualifications:EDUCATIONCertified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Completion of Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist Council on accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut.EXPERIENCEPrefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line recommended, but none required.LICENSURECertified Registered Nurse Anesthetist AANA Certification, State of CT RN and APRN License, ACLS, PALS, NRPSPECIAL SKILLSCRNA's must have sharp concentration and focus, along with the ability to stay calm under stressful conditions. CRNAs must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with surgeons and the surgical support team, as well as with patients and their families. A calm and reassuring manner is one way to inspire trust in patients, who may be apprehensive about surgery, as well as the surgical team. Anesthetic patient management must be immediate and responsive. Flexibility and adaptability are required.Additional Information:Our department is growing. We are hiring for several positions to support expanded OB services overnights during the week. We will consider candidates seeking 36 hour full-time, and 24 hour part-time opporunities. Please specify when you apply which opportunity interests you. Recent OB experience is preferred. New grad CRNAs welcome. Training for OB anesthesia available. Requires PALS and NRP certifications (courses provided/must obtain within 3 months of hire).
