Job Title:Lead CRNA - FT

Job Summary:Provides, under the direction of the chief CRNA and associate chief CRNA, leadership and oversight to a group of CRNAS. Assesses patient care needs and provides anesthesia. Administers local, general, inhalational, regional, monitored anesthesia care, and other anesthetics for surgical, obstetrical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures under the medical direction or supervision of an anesthesiologist. Consults preoperatively with patients regarding anesthetic needs, monitors patients' reactions to anesthesia and adjusts accordingly.

Education & Experience

Graduate of an accredited program of Nurse Anesthesiology. Certified as a Nurse Anesthetist. Valid MS RN license and unrestricted license to practice as a CRNA. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of previous CRNA experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

MS RN license, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Knowledge of agents, equipment, procedures and techniques for the provision of anesthesia for patients.

Responsibilities

Coordinates providers and patient care in assigned area while collaborating with physicians and other health care team members to ensure optimum care and efficiencyProvides input on operational matters and performance evaluationsServes as liaison between team members and others in departmentEvaluates patients preoperatively to assess physical status and anesthetic risksAdministers anesthetics during surgical, obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures under the medical direction or supervision of an anesthesiologist.Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and procedures.Responds to critical patient care needs related to invasive monitoring, iv access and airway managementConducts pre and post anesthesia evaluation including explanation of plan, obtaining informed consent, and follow up on any postoperative complicationEducates, instructs, and mentors student nurse anesthetist, residents and other allied health professionals.The duties listed are general in nature and are examples of the duties and responsibilities performed and are not meant to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
