Summary

The Machinist is responsible for effective and efficient operation of the Milling machines and other EDM machines on a continuous basis including identification and resolution of issues to maintain production output requirements of the business unit.

ResponsibilitiesSet Up and operates Milling and/or EDM Machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.Makes all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blue print specifications/sketches.Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.Inspects work as required for all dimensional features as required.Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc.Performs duties exercising good machining practices at all times.Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.Trains, guides and assists other employees as required.Taking a proactive approach to solving process or system related problems and coordinating with other team members/departments when necessary for resolution of problemsComply with OSHA, health, safety and environment requirements.May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.Experience

4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment2+ years of experience working with EDM, CNC, CMM or related equipmentAbilities

Strong listening and communication skills; verbal and written skillsStrong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement MethodologiesStrong attention to detailDemonstrated self-starterProficient in Microsoft Office and Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss)Company Sponsored Benefits
