InpatientResponsibilities:
The Cardiologist will:
Prescribe and manage medications to control symptoms and improve cardiac function in patientsPerform or assist in interventional procedures, such as cardiac catheterization, to address certain cardiac abnormalities without the need for surgeryWork closely with Cardiac Surgeons to plan and coordinate surgical interventions, when necessaryEducate patients and their families about the nature of the heart condition, treatment options, and the importance of follow-up careMonitor patients during follow-up visits to assess their progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and address any emerging issuesEngage in research activities to advance the field of pediatric cardiologyProvide education and training to medical students, residents, and fellowsProvide emergency care and consultation for pediatric patients with acute cardiac issuesPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
