KDAF CW33 Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas, market #5, seeks a Director of Sales to lead a team of successful experienced sales executives. Nexstar Media Group owned, KDAF benefits from being in the home market of the largest local broadcasting company in the United States and one of the world’s leading diversified media companies. KDAF is now an Owned and Operated CW Affiliate.

The Director of Sales is responsible for implementing strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market development in-line with Nexstar’s vision and values. In addition, optimizing existing relationships with existing clients and developing a consistently increasing number of new clients is expected.

KDAF is uniquely positioned in the DFW market and has Emmy nominated lifestyle programming, and those advantages offer creative selling opportunities. The CW Network has entered the sports programming business aggressively, by running LIV Golf, ACC Football/Basketball, Inside the NFL, and soon to follow, the NASCAR Xfinity Series which is set to start in 2025. Locally, KDAF broadcasts High School Football and Allen Americans Professional Hockey. KDAF deploys the brand “Always FUN” with the FUN being Fresh Unique and New.

The Director of Sales will benefit from working with the digital business of Nexstar Media Group, Inc., which operates over 125 websites and 239 mobile apps, delivering premium and trusted content from Nexstar Media Group’s portfolio of media assets, including 200 owned or partner local broadcast stations in 116 U.S. markets, The CW, NewsNationNow.com, TheHill.com, and BestReviews.com. Collectively, Nexstar Media Group’s digital assets are a Top 10 U.S. digital news and information property as ranked by ComScore.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing record breaking or increasingly improved revenue performance. They will have a history of setting positive sales cultures with a client focused approach.

The Director of Sales is responsible for advancing all sales efforts for station platforms and digital marketing services.

Additional Job Description:

Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets.

Works with Account Executives and clients developing results driven marketing solutions across multiple platforms.

Attends sales calls with Account Executives to develop new accounts and maximize existing accounts.

Is an effective educator/trainer both internally and externally on marketing tactics, benefits, and trends.

Assists with the recruitment of talented sales professionals.

Prepares budgets and approves budgeted expenditures.

Works closely with Accounts Receivable and sales team to maintain current and collectible agings.

Manage inventory and effective pricing.

Understands Google Analytics – more importantly how we can use it to get more money.

Brings new ideas to generate revenue (non-traditional broadcast clients).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred.

5 Years Broadcast TV management experience.

Current knowledge of broadcast analytics and digital ad technology, online ad serving, 3rd party research skills such as ComScore and Google Analytics.

IAB and/or Google AdWords certification a plus.

Proficiency in MS Office products required.

Fluency in English; with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
