As a software engineer, you will work with our cross-functional global team of software engineers, product engineers, designers, product managers, and release engineers. You will be actively involved in enhancing the capability of the ArcGIS Online and Enterprise platform from feature inception to delivery, using bleeding edge technology.

Build server-side Java components and web services to power user experience and geospatial workflowsPrototype, design, develop, and deliver complete software features and products that can scale, are fault tolerant, and handle concurrent workloadsDesign, architect, and build complete software features and products to meet customer requirementsApply cloud native principles to design software architecture that takes advantage of cloud services and infrastructure for massive scale and availabilityFind, analyze, and fix bugs and performance problems whenever and wherever they occurWork collaboratively with other teams to understand requirements and incorporate them into the softwareRequirements

1+ years of experience developing middleware software components using core Java, Servlets, JavaEE, Cloud computingExperience developing RESTful web servicesGood understanding of cloud computing platforms and services, such as AWS, SQS, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and moreGood understanding of Java design patternsKnowledge of relational databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, RDSExperience working with large code base GitProficient in debugging and profiling tools (Eclipse Debugger, JProfiler, and more)Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skillsExcellent written and verbal communication and time management skillsBachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldRecommended Qualifications

Knowledge of and familiarity with Java build systems, such as MavenExperience with HTTP monitoring tools (Fiddler) and JDK debugging tools (JProfiler, JConsole)Knowledge of Docker containers and orchestrators such as KubernetesMaster’s degree in computer science or related fieldTotal Rewards

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
