As a social networking product, Viva Engage has tons of interesting engineering challenges - like supporting large-scale conversations with hundreds of thousands of participants. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of major services with tens of millions of users, operating in multiple global regionsMentor and train other engineers in software best practices and design techniquesHelp build and maintain collaborative engineering cultureProvide strategic direction for the evolution of the Viva Engage technology stack, building alignment with other technical leadersCollaborate with product, design, and engineering to deliver a delightful experienceContinually seek deeper insights into the performance and scalability of our systemsExperiment, A/B test key hypothesis to make data driven decisionsQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, RubyOR equivalent experience.8+ years of experience building large scale, resilient distributed systems, and demonstrated efficient debugging skills using logs and metrics5+ years of experience with multiple datastores such as SQL and NoSQL, and data access patterns8+ years of experience developing and operating microservicesPreferred Qualifications12+ years of professional software development experience, including building platforms and APIs for internal developersDemonstrated experience in monolithic decomposition and driving major technical changeDemonstrated Ruby on Rails knowledgeDemonstrated knowledge of Java or Ruby, GraphQL and/or gRPC/ThriftSoftware Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
