.The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is in search for an Associate Professor of Neuro Oncology.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOBProvide care for inpatient and outpatient services at UMH, UMHC and Neurology clinics at UMHC and satellite locationsTreatment and prevention of neurological diseases, specializing treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumorsTreat patients with neurologic complications from malignancy (leukemic or lymphomatous meningitis, hyperviscosity syndrome, peripheral neuropathies)Research effort will be devoted to development of novel clinical protocols, conduct of clinical research and conduct or facilitation of translational researchProvide teaching to students, residents and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settingsActive participation in the training program of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Neurology Resident Fellowship programsAttendance at resident and fellowship events and conferencesTraining of house staff from the JMH Residency programPreparation and presentation at teaching conferencesParticipation in research programs in metastatic brain tumors and complications arising from the malignancyDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSMD degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent)General Neurology Fellowship is preferredBoard certification in Neurology is strongly recommendedEligible for Florida medical licenseGood communications skills (face to face, over the phone and in writing)Excellent customer service skillsAbility to work collaboratively with other employeesUHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
