THE ROLE
Serving as a key field-based leader for the Operations Team, the Director, Retail Operations provides day-to-day onsite leadership, training, and supervision for the Store Director Team. This position strategically leads and manages our companywide Store Director Team in all areas of operations, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction and delight, as well as team member job performance, engagement, and enjoyment.

LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT
Provides leadership to Store Director Team with clear direction, regular performance coaching, honest and direct feedback, and professional development plans.
Trains and develops Store Director Team to elevate leadership capabilities and enhance proficiency in operational execution.
Proactively and effectively addresses complex operations issues, mitigating risk, and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the Company, guests, and team members.
Leads the recruiting and hiring efforts within the organization to fill key store leadership positions.
Identifies and oversees development of talent within the team for future growth.
Counsels leaders on employment issues, including investigations of team member concerns, focusing on promoting a high level of team member morale and establishing a positive team member experience.
Improves team member experience through in-store connection and store visit frequency.
Ensures execution of foundational team member training across departments and positions.
FINANCIAL OBJECTIVES
Monitors store performance against budgeted goals, including sales, labor, gross profit, operational and selling supplies, shrink/waste, EBITDA, and EBIT. Provides guidance and support to Store Director Team in achieving financial targets. Is accountable for store results.
Utilizes company tools, resources, and technology to identify opportunities to drive sales.
Ensures efficient deployment of labor by evaluating staffing needs, optimizing scheduling practices, and implementing labor allocation strategies.
Oversees execution of in-store merchandising standards.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Conducts thorough reviews of operational processes within stores to ensure adherence to company standards.
Supports execution of all operational directives set by the Company. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas for enhancement to existing processes and procedures.
Ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Consistently reviews existing processes, systems, and policies for improvement. Adapts to change with the collaboration of all relevant key internal stakeholders to produce the most effective outcome.
Supports Store Director Team with complete execution of programs, standards, and best results.
Implements and supports shrink and waste reduction programs.
Partners with Inventory Process Manager to ensure physical inventory best practices across all stores.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum five years of proven experience in a high-volume, guest service driven, retail food environment as a Store Director required.
Minimum ten years supervisory experience preferred.
Supermarket financial statement understanding; successful experience with profit and loss control.
Proven ability to positively affect sales generation and superior guest relations.
Role models team member behaviors and brings out the best in others.
Works collaboratively while building trust-based relationships with team members.
Comprehensive knowledge of grocery store operations, systems, and industry standards.
Must be strategic, structured, and savvy.
Demonstrates appropriate professional judgment. Effectively assesses situations, information, and available resources, taking timely appropriate action.
Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.
Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.
Possesses comprehensive product information with a proven history of using knowledge to train employees and best service guests.

Excellent communication skills. Ability to affect change through positive influence.
Experience using MS Office Suite.

Pay range: $148,000 - $163,700
