The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack developer with interests in both user-interface development and backend software engineering who will collaborate on our Thales biosimulation platform for next-generation drug-development.Business Unit:

This position can be 100% remote or hybrid near one of our locations (Buffalo, NY; Durham, NC; Lancaster, CA; or Pittsburgh, PA)Job Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and extend web-based user interfaces for running simulations and visualizing output from a biological modeling software platformDevelop, maintain, and extend backend simulation infrastructure code for our simulation platformWork with scientific user-base and architects to solicit and implement new features to improve efficiency and user experienceAnalyze algorithm performance and optimize code for computational efficiencyResponsible for all aspects of software process: design, prototyping, debugging, testing, etc.Helping end-users troubleshoot problemsContribute to documentation processOther duties as assignedQualifications:8+ years professional software development experienceStrong experience with frontend professional web development experienceExtensive knowledge of JavaScript, REST APIs, HTML, CSSProficient in Python, relational databases, and some web UI frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, etc.)Server-side experience with Django development is a plusExperience working in scientific/technical domains is a plusBackground in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principlesCommitment to writing elegant, reliable, robust softwareSolid object-oriented design skills, testing, and debugging skillsStrong interest in mathematics and biology is a plusEagerness to work in a team-oriented environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldMaster’s or PhD in computer science or related field a plusFind out more about how amazing it is to work at Simulations Plus by visiting www.simulations-plus.com/career-center and apply today!
