**Sr. Buyer/Planner******Position Description******Job Summary****Saint-Gobain, a Global Top Employer,****is looking for a Sr. Buyer/Planner****in our Orange, CT Plant.**We offer comepttive wages along matching 401k, pension, bonus, tuition reimbursement, beneifts that start day 1, and so much moreJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Buyer/Planner is responsible for the planning of work orders and the procurement of all raw materials and components to support manufacturing operations and ultimately establish the master production schedule. Establishes strategic and vendor managed inventory levels to meet customer demand based on forecasts and historical data. Oversees the procurement of all subcontracted (outsourced) items and manages vendor relationships. The position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain Management. The incumbent works closely with plant supervision and team members on replenishment strategies to meet customers requirements, as well as resolving/refining parameters to improve standard costing and planning variances. Assists in the implementation, efficiency, and effectiveness of new and existing materials and components. Ensures production demands are met while maintaining a safe workplace for employees.Planning & Inventory Control* Plan work orders based on firm customer orders and forecasting/historical data to develop 6-month rolling master production schedule* Maintain ERP system item master data to ensure QAD is effectively planning future requirements* Maintain raw material, WIP, and Finished Goods inventories to be appropriately responsive to Sales and Work Orders within turn objectives and dollar levels* Input forecasting data into ERP system to drive demand and adjust as necessary to match current customer needs* Establish and maintain minimum inventory levels to meet strategic and vendor managed inventory goals* Lead Capacity planning activities to ensure meeting customer requirements* Maintain set-up and run times within the product routing software* Lead the review and reconciliation of production work orders to ensure inventory accuracy* Participate and contribute to inventory reduction initiatives* Assist in annual physical inventory and lead cycle counts as per policy* Other special projects and assignments as required by managementPurchasing* Plan and execute procurement of raw materials and components to support MPS* Revise/update raw material purchase orders according to changes in the MPS* Proactively communicate material and component availability issues* Negotiate pricing and report PPM cost savings* Assist in developing contracts for key suppliers* Assist in developing dual sources for key materials and components* Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules* Identify new opportunities for outsourcing* Develop and communicate forecasts to suppliers and vendors**Required Qualifications*** Bachelors degree, Supply Chain or Operations Management OR Equivalent Work Experience* Masters degree, Preferred* APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP), Within last 5 years, Preferred* 10+ years experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, scheduling with the understanding of manufacturing lead time, process, sub-contract operations and MRP/ERP knowledge Required* 3+ years experience in Inventory control and forecasting/planning* Green Belt, Preferred* Experience working in an IATF16949/ISO/AS9100 certified environment* Ability to communicate both written and orally throughout all levels of the organization and with customers.* Experience in contract manufacturing operations* Experience in planning for low volume/high mix environment* Experience with shop floor reporting systems* Experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint* In-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably QAD manufacturing system* Team building and motivational skills along with strong decision-making and organizational skills* Ability to influence and drive solutions* Strong analytical aptitude and problem solving skills* Must be results oriented, self-motivated, flexible, dynamic, and proactive**Company Summary**Saint-Gobains innovations touch almost every major industry around the world, moving us forward, making meaningful connections, and inspiring us to go beyond the impossible.
