We are committed to providing best-in-class patient care, pioneering research and technology, and most importantly, rewarding and recognizing our employees!Responsibilities:Oversees the insurance accounts receivable team and perform the job duties of fellow teammates as neededMaintains positive leadership and gives frequent performance feedback, and encourages two-way participation and ideasParticipates in the hiring process and review process for team membersReviews and approves requests from the insurance team for adjustments and refundsEnsures the team resubmits insurance claims that have received no response or are not on fileMonitors and manages the productivity and performance of assigned employees including reporting daily/weekly/monthly department metrics to Senior ManagementEnsures the team follows-up with insurance companies and confirms claims are paid/processedProduces productivity and error reports for the department managerOversees that the team reviews and appeals unpaid and denied claimsPerforms monthly billing audits to ensure timely and accurate claims submission and insurance follow up activitiesMonitor and manage key performance indicators and data for department, and provide reporting and action plans for improvementSupervises the team to ensure maintenance of an error rate in accordance with departmental policyPerforms additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent5 years medical billing experienceStrong background and experience in Revenue Cycle ManagementOphthalmology background desired2+ years in a leadership role preferredActive knowledge of CMS guidelines contracted insurance guidelines and coding policiesAbility to lead a team by demonstrating a positive attitude, openness to change, willingness to help, and respect for others and their ideasExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environmentDemonstrated computer literacy and excellent math skillsAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
