Description:

Reporting to the Director/Senior Director Procurement – Business Partner, the Business Procurement Manager serves as a key point of contact and interface from procurement for the assigned business, function or region providing strategic procurement leadership to that organization.

The Business Procurement Manager engages the appropriate business leaders and stakeholders and is responsible for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated with the assigned portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories. The Business Procurement Manager ensures alignment of procurement goals with assigned business.

The associate in this role works across both Procurement and the assigned business(es), and leverages strong business acumen and analytic capability to integrate sourcing, category and business strategies as well as the procure to pay process. The Business Procurement Manager supports and manages governance processes on direct and indirect spend for the assigned business.

o 20% - Builds credibility and collaborative business relationships at the business level with the assigned business, function or region ensuring governance across direct and indirect spend. Partners with a wide range of procurement leaders and associates to bring together a comprehensive procurement perspective for the stakeholders. Ensures business needs and key strategies are integrated into leveraged category spend and that there is a clear value proposition for the assigned business to implement sourcing strategies in business, function or region.

o 60% - Supports other Business Procurement Managers on reporting and leading security of supply issues, reporting and resolution. Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to close gaps, which may be related to supplier, processes or other commercial issues. Effectively uses all change tools to facilitate adoption of change. Uses project management tools to facilite resolution of supply issues, reporting and improving relationships with suppliers and Procurement’s business partners. Leads reporting activities for supplier risk management and supplier relationship management activities.

o 10% - Contributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvements.

o 10% - Educates internal / external customers on various technical and procurement process issues.

Responsibilities:

- This associate has direct accountability for the customer relationship management of a business, function or region, engaged at the appropriate level within the assigned business, region or function.

- Business Procurement Manager is responsible for speaking on behalf of the Procurement function regarding all relevant categories and functional initiatives. This associate:

o Engages the appropriate business leaders and is accountable for the execution of the sourcing strategy associated within an assigned portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories.

o Ensures that savings and value streams from category strategies get built into the Cost To Win budgets at the business or function level. Works with the business or function to identify upside opportunities and pipeline of savings.

o Manages supplier risk of business and formulates strategy for key products to reduce supplier risk over time.

o Plans and manages strategic stakeholder engagements to ensure alignment of activities across the internal and external supply chains.

o Supports as a liaison with Global Procurement category teams and business leadership on supplier relationship management activities.

- Business Procurement Manager is accountable for:

o Delivery of results aligned to procurement functional goals committed to the assigned business

o Management of security of supply issues including leading resolution and reporting on issues to upper levels of management

o Support of delivery of savings and value through implementation of category projects for the assigned business.

o Improvement on financial position through cost savings, non-price value opportunities and price movement / inflation management and appropriate standard costs

o Alignment of risk mitigation plans associated with supply base and STP process compliance for assigned business

Requirements:

o Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

o Minimum 5 years of work experience

o Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Supplier Management in either or both Manufacturing and Services environments

o Broad business knowledge and acumen

o Proficiency in strategic sourcing or category management with a history of successful implementation

o Experience with supplier value management, supplier development and continuous improvement

o Able to successfully champion change and innovation

o Working and influencing within a highly matrixed organization

o Skilled at developing partnerships; building and maintaining strong working relationships

o A proven track record of developing programs and collaborating with others to reach mutual outcomes

o Adept at leading and working in diverse environments
