Job DescriptionAn architecture and planning company is seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant. This role will sit on a team of 10 and report to the VP of Finance. Some responsibilities will be owning the general ledger function, performing month-end close, and journal entries, and ensuring AP/AR postings are accurate. Not needed but anyone with AIA construction billing exposure would be a huge plus. The ideal candidate has at least 5+ years of experience, a background using Deltek or Oracle software, and engineering/construction industry experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account informationResponsible for month-end general ledger reconciliation and analysisMaintain bank accounts by requesting disbursements and preparing monthly reconciliationsMonitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investmentsResearch and reconcile all discrepanciesAssist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CFOAudit and verify documentsFollow internal controlsComplete data backupsFinancial and profitability analysis on a requested basisSupervise, coach, and direct AP, AR, and junior accountants as directed by the ControllerRequirements
Qualifications:
Must have an Accounting degree and at least 4 years' experienceMBA or CPA certification PREFERREDStrong computer skillsAccuracy in daily work and other projectsAbility to meet communicated schedules and deadlinesAdherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial ReportingAbility to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employeesAbility to function as a team player
