The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.Responsibilities:Position Overview:Processes laboratory orders and obtains all required specimens for laboratory testing.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Obtains all required specimens from inpatients and outpatients of all ages while keeping identification protocols as a high priority.Processes patient specimens including but not limited to registration, test requests, specimen processing of in-house and send out tests, site batches and phone calls of patient results.Has the ability and knowledge to resolve send out issues in a timely manner. Able to make decisions based upon the urgency of the situation and documents all issues/resolutions in accordance with work procedures and hospital and departmental policies.Stocks and maintains an adequate amount of supplies at all times.Acts as a courier transporting specimens.
Qualifications:Required:High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)Current California Phlebotomy LicenseCurrent BLS certificationCurrent Driving LicenseCurrent and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that is considered insurable under the CMHS insurance coveragesPreferred:Six (6) plus months recent hospital experience
