Position SummaryThis position will report to the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement leader and will maintain strong alignment to the pharmaceutical operations network strategy and initiatives. This role will work directly with manager level cross-functional stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering, facilities, material sciences, supply chain, category leads at the site and within the network to lead and execute operational procurement related activities.
This role will be responsible for developing and improving existing processes, bringing new and innovative approaches, with a focus on day-to-day and long-term goals and objectives.
This business critical function will support on site manufacturing operation continuity and requires a strong ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities on a daily basis with minimal guidance. The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. There will be a focus on solving complex issues with a broad perspective - presenting data, conclusions, and best practices in multiple forums at site and network levels.
Key Responsibilities• Design, strategy, and execution of all procurement related activities for the manufacture of products.• Work closely with internal stakeholders within Procurement, Facilities, Maintenance, and Engineering departments along with other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless customer service.• Implement direct material, indirect, and capital strategic category initiatives at the Phoenix site for Commercial Pharmaceutical manufacturing in alignment with category leaders. Lead Regional sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category leads.• Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, cost avoidance savings, reduction in cost and invoicing compliance.• Establish and maintain communication with global category leaders (at network sites as well as HQ); provide appropriate feedback on supplier performance aspects.• Ensure pricing, quantity, and compliance information related to preferred supplier/vendor, and communicate with suppliers and site personnel as needed.• Lead Local Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for the indirect categories.• Lead Procurement activities related to existing and new supplier qualifications, readiness, assessment, and execution of projects including tech transfers.• Work with global teams to ensure segmentation of key relationships. and support Impact Assessments related to new product launches and new suppliers.• Participate in daily site Tier 2 management forums. Communicate escalations and manage site expectations during times of material supply disruption risks.• Leverage technology to implement direct material, indirect, and capital category specific goals and objectives.• Ensure alignment with globally set policies and overlapping flow-charts for all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications & Experience• Minimum education of a completed Bachelor's Degree.• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) plus years of work experience in Procurement, Engineering, Facilities, Supply Chain and/or Planning. Experience with indirect & direct materials procurement preferred as well.• Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure environment, strict attention to detail, successful negotiation, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
