Description:The Fabricator is responsible for operating fabrication machines that cut, shape, and bend metal to desired specifications. The Fabricator will lay out, fabricate, brazes, and assemble product by utilizing knowledge of working characteristics, such as layout techniques, usage of hand & power tools, machines, and other equipment as needed.Position Key Accountabilities:Read and interpret blueprints to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal productsSelects gauge and type of sheet metal, according to product specifications, sets stops, or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or templateLays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material, using scribers, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patters of product or parts using templatesSet up and operates fabricating machines, such as shears, press brake, in order to cut, bend, and formSelects positions and secures dies, cutters, and fixtures onto machineAdjusts controls to set and regulate machining factorsUsage of power tools to trim, file, grind, deburr, buffs, and smooth surfacesManufactures assemblies according to blueprints, using hand tools, lifting, and handling devicesInspects assemblies and installation for conformance to desired specifications according to blueprintsOther duties and responsibilities as assignedDesired Qualifications and Experience Levels:High school diploma or equivalent is requiredPrior Fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment is preferredAttention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlinesAbility and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specificationsMust be able to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsStrong communication skills are necessaryMust have the ability to perform basic math calculationsWhile performing duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, carry, and move up to 50 poundsWork in full compliance with safety regulationsMust possess willingness to learn outside of existing areas of expertiseWilling to work in a fast-paced setting, handle change, and have the creative energy to solve problemsThroughout our company and in all interactions, Kentucky Trailer Associates choose to be:
