Full-timeOverview:We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Engineer to join our team in Sunrise, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java backend development, particularly within the Financial Services industry, and a deep understanding of JVM (Java Virtual Machine). This role will involve supporting Java and Kotlin in the JVM space, as well as exposure to JavaScript and TypeScript. Additionally, candidates will be responsible for improving performance, building tools for the operating system, and contributing to the evolution of our cloud strategy.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain Java backend systems for our Financial Services applications, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.Support Java and Kotlin in the JVM space, while also gaining exposure to JavaScript and TypeScript.Design and implement APIs with a deep understanding of their lifecycle, from bootstrapping to deployment.Optimize performance and resource consumption of JVM-based components, leveraging your understanding of JVM internals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement programming paradigms such as Spring React and RX Java.Stay up-to-date with the latest Java versions and frameworks, with a goal to migrate to newer versions.Use Gradle for build automation and dependency management, with some exposure to Maven.Contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture, designing and implementing REST APIs.Gain familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployment, contributing to our CI/CD processes.Contribute to our cloud strategy, with exposure to AWS and GCP environments, ensuring seamless deployment regardless of the underlying cloud provider.Golang and Rust experience is a plus, as we explore new technologies and languages for specific use cases.Requirements:Extensive experience in Java backend development, particularly within the Financial Services industry.Deep understanding of JVM internals, with a focus on performance tuning and resource optimization.Experience with Kotlin is a plus.Familiarity with Spring React and RX Java programming paradigms.Proficiency in Java 12 and above, with a willingness to learn and adapt to newer versions.Experience with Gradle for build automation and dependency management.Knowledge of microservices architecture and REST API design principles.Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployment.Familiarity with AWS/GCP environments and cloud deployment strategies.Golang and Rust experience is desirable.A generalist mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
