Geography for the Midwest Division North Sales Manager is Eastern SD, Eastern ND, Minnesota and 2 retail branches in Northern IA.The Sales Manager is responsible for managing organizational sales by developing business plans and setting and achieving sales goals. The Sales Manager is tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of sales team members spanning approximately five to ten locations within a division. This is achieved by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets and facilitating on-going training of sales team members.Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the designated sales territory. This position requires overnight travel 60-75% of the regular work week.This employee's primary duty must be the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of Helena or Helena's customers. This also includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.What your day may look likeEstablishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for territories and projecting expecting sales volume and profit by Sales Representatives with new and existing products.Consults with existing or potential customers to understand their needs, identifies and suggests product and service solutions that meet those needs.Resolves customer complaints, employee issues and other issues that may interfere with successful sales operations.Directs employee performance standards of the sales team. Completes performance reviews on sales team members including the Branch Manager and serves as co-evaluator on performance reviews for all Sales Representatives in assigned areas.Monitors and updates sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.Seeks out and identifies new market opportunities including potential acquisitions for pursuit with business unit leadership.Maintains area sales team members by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training new and existing sales employees.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending continuing education, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional organizations.Reviews and approves sales expenses in assigned area to ensure expenses are within set parameters as a percentage of cost of goods sold.Sets Helena product sales goals for assigned area and each sales team member and follows corporate directed marketing plans for HPG products.Other work-related duties may be assigned by leader.Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

Education and experience needed for this positionBachelor's degree in an agriculture or business field is required.Five years of sales and/or marketing experience in an agricultural industry, two of which are in a supervisory role is required.A combination of education and experience will be considered.Demonstrated sales success.Must be able to travel by various means including but not limited to car and plane.
