Department Purpose and Structure:Our U.S. litigation practice is a comprehensive offering that covers complex commercial disputes, financial institutions litigation, regulatory and white-collar defense, antitrust, internal investigations, special investigations, securities litigation, corruption investigations, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) will be an integral part of the business development team, working collaboratively with partners and associates in the Litigation & Investigations and Regulatory practices.

Role Purpose:The SBDM role offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the world's largest law firms, gaining global experience and contributing to the business development and marketing strategies of the U.S. team. The role involves close collaboration with international offices, emphasizing a unified approach to business development.

Practice Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

Collaborate with attorneys to develop and implement marketing and business development strategies for each partner and their practices.Pitches, Proposals, and Credentials:

Work closely with attorneys and the central pitch team to create competitive proposals, credentials, pitches, and presentations for U.S. practices and the global network.Cross-Practice & Cross-Office Integration:

Coordinate existing projects and develop new opportunities leveraging the international partner and business development network.Market Research:

Lead proactive market research on existing and prospective clients, providing advice on effective marketing strategies. Manage junior team members in developing high-level summaries for partners.Marketing Discussion & Review:

Arrange and chair meetings with practice groups to review progress on marketing projects and key client targeting.Profile/PR:

Work with the PR team to identify opportunities and maintain effective press coverage. Determine high-profile matters for press and internal coverage.Sponsorships and Client Events:

Identify and coordinate firm sponsorships of conferences, plan client events and seminars. Implement ROI analysis process for marketing investments.Expertise Database:

Maintain records in the global database of Litigation and Regulatory proposals and matters. Ensure information dissemination to internal groups.Team Management:

Mentor and collaborate with junior team members, manage work allocation, support long-term goals, and facilitate performance appraisals.Team:This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer - Americas, working closely with the wider Client team and Litigation team members.

Key Requirements:

Culturally astute with a strong ability to work effectively across borders.Experience in a complex organization, preferably a significant law firm or large professional services environment.Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and drive forward multiple projects.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).8 to 10 years of professional services experience in the Litigation space.Tenacious, proactive, and results-driven.Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.High attention to detail.Bachelor's degree required.
