OVERVIEW:

Top law firm is seeking a highly motivated and engaging Assistant Business Development Manager to support the growth of the firm’s thriving Corporate, Investment Fund, or Litigation practice. The Assistant Business Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Business Development and works closely with the practice’s attorneys and coordinators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with the practice group’s leaders to assess needs and evaluate implementation of overall strategic plansDevise practice group strategy and attend strategic meetings, identifying opportunities for cross-marketing and putting plans into place to carry outDesign and implement go-to-market strategies and identify business development opportunitiesPrepare pitch material, RFP’s and key presentation materials for internal and external stakeholdersEngage with key external stakeholders for research, conference or thought leadership engagement opportunitiesManage pipeline of opportunities, assess the results of pitches and proposals, and provide timely ideasMonitor publications and other sources for potential opportunities and client development, and relay intelligence gathered to partners and associatesGuide the sales material messaging by partnering with the other practice group’s business development teams to ensure sales materials, pitches and proposals are aligned with the Firm’s core goals and practicesStrategize ideas and execute methods for improving the Firm’s business development initiativesAssess practice group strengths and research clients, competitors, industry and market trends to aid in BD initiativesAnalyze and report on key BD metrics that speak to improving the effectiveness of the Firm’s BD effortsCollaborate with Media Relations and Communications team for award submissions and firm eventsSupport practice groups with legal directory submissionsProvide mentorship to the BD team to foster a culture of growth, positivity and collaboration that will lead to greater efficiencyREQUIREMENTS:

5+ years of legal business development/marketing experience; knowledge of Corporate, Investment Funds, or Litigation practice groups requiredBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or similar field preferredDemonstrated experience managing junior business development staff membersExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates good judgment in communicationWorks well under pressure and in a collaborative environmentEffective researcher with great attention to detail in legal proofreading and editing
